This stunning example of an early Victorian era sapphire ring is one of the best we've ever seen! The stunning 2.5 carat deep cornflower blue sapphire steals the show surrounded by a halo of antique polki cut diamonds and even more sapphires! Adding to the already impressive heritage of this piece is the fact the that the sapphires are of the very desirable "ceylon" origin and even more rare show no signs of any treatment including heating. Heat treating sapphires is a common practice to change and improve the color, finding an example of such a high quality gem that has not been heated is extremely rare! The ring is nearly as impressive as the gemstones it holds. Likely from the mid 1800's this early victorian features intricately carved designs all of the way around the gallery and down the shoulders continuing around the entire shank! This gold ring features a silver top holding all of these stunning gems securely in place. This piece is in amazing condition considering the age and would make an excellent addition to any antique jewelry lover's collection.
